Luke Shaw after suffering a horrific injury in the Champions League has been named in Manchester United’s squad for the Europa League. Initially thought to be a season ending injury,it appears that Shaw has made considerable progress and now is in a position to play at least a few minutes before the season ends. This is potentially good news even for Roy Hodgson as the Euros are looming and having someone like Shaw in your squad is always helpful.

Although United have managed decently without Shaw with Borthwick-Jackson and exciting young talent for the club, Shaw’s pace and verticality on the left hand side of the pitch has been missed.

Here is the complete squad list.

United fans will want Van Gaal to take Europa league seriously as their chances of qualifying for the Champions League through the Premier League are looking bleak. Currently they are five points of the top 4 and are visiting Chelsea this weekend and will hope to put more pressure on Arsenal who are currently on fourth. Van Gaal knows that the minimum he needs to achieve will be Champions League qualification to stay on to complete his contract which is looking very unlikely at the moment.
