Anthony Martial lit up Old Trafford with his stunning goal and scooped up his second Man of the Match award against Stoke City. In an online poll conducted on Twitter by United’s official twitter account, Martial polled in 74% of the votes. Louis van Gaal had praise for his young forward in the post match press conference “It is very surprising when you come from the French league to the Premier League and you can do this when you are 19 years or 20 years old.”
Martial is the sole shining light in United’s season so far. Having signed him for a hefty sum on the last day of the transfer, Martial announced his arrival at Old Trafford with a breathtaking goal against Liverpool. Although there have been dips, Martial has certainly performed well for someone so young and playing in his first season in the Premier League. Manchester United should do all they can to protect the young Frenchman and he can lead them to success for a long time. Wayne Rooney continued his goal scoring form as he scored one and made one. United are to visit Chelsea this Sunday and a bad result there will pile on the pressure on Van Gaal again.
