Manchester United expected starting lineup against Stoke is something as follows.

Wayne Rooney is expected to start as Van Gaal hasn’t dropped his captain yet this season. Rooney’s continued selection has actually added additional pressure on Van Gaal and the game against Stoke will be a big one for both the manager and the captain. Juan Mata is expected to be on the bench as he has hit a bad patch of form. Ashley Young who has strangely found himself on the bench should start the game.

Van Gaal is under immense pressure as reports suggest that he must avoid defeat against both Stoke and Chelsea. With Jose Mourinho waiting, this pressue has only increased. It is ironic that Van Gaal’s future might be decided against Chelsea. Chelsea’s supporters are still pining for Mourinho and would not want him to go to Old Trafford. In fact, every big club will be worried if Mourinho ends up at Old Trafford.

The club, the glamour, the hype and the pressure,it’s all perfect for United. If there is one club which is bigger than any manager,it has to be Manchester United. And at least on paper, Mourinho and United seem to be a deadly combination which could start another era of dominance like seen under Sir Alex.
