According to The Sun, Arsene Wenger looks to buy Adrien Rabiot from PSG to bolster his squad in the January transfer window. Wenger is looking for reinforcements as injuries have again decimated his squad but unlike other seasons, Arsenal are still in a very strong position in the league with the game against City coming up. Champions League hopes are slim after they were drawn against defending champions Barcelona.

Rabiot’s appearances for the first team have been limited because of PSG’s rich talents. But Raniot is regarded very highly at PSG and will not be let go off easily. Wenger who has a tremendous eye for young talent is intent on reinforcing his midfield and see the young star as a perfect fit. With Coquelin reportedly out for 3 months, there is need for Wenger to bring in someone in January. But PSG’s president is unwilling to let Rabiot go and might be the biggest hinderance in the proposed move.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “He’s 20 years old, plays regularly in a big team. He’s come through the youth academy — the club has given him a lot. I’ll never accept that he considers himself more important than the club.”

“The club will always be more important than any player. He’s a big talent. My dream is that he might become captain of PSG one day. But he has to respect the club, the coach and his teammates.”

“He’s part of the PSG family and he should respect it. He understood the message. He’ll be there at 100 percent in January.”
