Arsenal are in talks with Inter Milan over their Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and want to complete the signing as soon as possible according to the Daily Express. Arsenal have been plagued by injuries especially their midfield has been badly affected, but unlike in seasons before, the injuries have not affected the results. Arsenal are in a impressive run of form led by the brilliant Mesut Ozil. Ozil’s form has helped Arsenal overcome their injury troubles without much of a hiccup.

Arsene Wenger knows that this is the best chance to win a Premier League title in years as all the top teams are struggling for form. Already Chelsea and Liverpool have changed their managers this season and Manchester United are on the verge of changing theirs. Pelligrini is all but sure to leave at the end of the season if he is not sacked before it. Amidst all this turmoil, Wenger’s stability at Arsenal has finally helped them to a good position for the second half of the season. Although their Champions League ambitions might be hampered because they face Barcelona in the next round but in football stranger things have happened.

  1. Doesn’t matter who we sign. The problem is the manager. Always has been, and always will be. Every year we flatter to deceive. The same mistakes made, the same issues with mentality and motivation. When the pressure is on, and even when it’s often not – we buckle and / or fall apart. This season with the league being so even ( or should that be : poor ? ) any manager with a reasonable amount of competence should be able to exploit this and take Arsenal to the title.

But Wenger proves time and again that he is not competent, and is also grossly negligent. He also has more than his share of luck – as often, just when results go bad, he somehow does just enough to keep his job. And then the familiar cycle of underachievement starts all over again.

A new manager was desperately needed years ago, and still is now. When will deluded Wenger worshippers ever learn this ?

    ” In Arsene we rust.”
