Wayne Rooney’s dismal performances for Manchester United this season have a thrown a huge spanner in Van Gaal’s grand plans for this season. The United captain has had an long and extended run of games where he has failed to make any sort of an impact. With not many alternatives, Van Gaal has been forced to play the English captain whenever he is fit. With United’s  attack already looking ponderous and blunt, Rooney’s form has only added fuel to the fire. One solution would be to buy a speedy and intelligent forward in the January transfer window.

Lucas Moura currently at PSG might not have his compatriot Neymar’s talent or his breathtaking skillset, but he certainly can give this United attack a lift. French paper L’Equipe has reported that United are planning to buy Moura from PSG this January. United were also previously linked to the Brazillian but as media reports go these days, every big club seems to be linked to every player in the market.

United in January whether they get Moura are not will be scouting for players as their attack has been blunt and boring for most of the season and fans at Old Trafford are losing their patience.
