Manchester United had an underwhelming season compared to their successes during the Ferguson era. But Van Gaal’s team has shown signs of improvements and a tweak here and there will help them go a long way in the Champions League as well as compete for the league title.

Marc Batra

After Hummels decided against moving to United and Otamendi busy with the Copa America,Batra seems to be only choice United have. Because of his release clause this will be a cut price deal but it remains to be seen whether Van Gaal is interested or not.

Samir Handanovic

The Inter goalie has only one year left on his contract just like United’s present goalkeeper David De Gea. Samir had saved 6 straight penalties last season for Inter and for some reason isn’t rated as one of the top goalkeepers in the world. United will do well to get someone who is in his prime for a cut price deal.

Karim Benzema

With Falcao already gone and Robin Van Persie increasingly looking like his future is not Old Trafford,United are going to have wafer-thin forward line. Karim Benzema looks a decent option especially when he could be used as a bargaining chip in the David De Gea deal.

Roberto Frimino

Although Brazilians in the past have failed miserably at Manchester United, this transfer might be the one which changes the tide. Hoffenheim’s best player by a mile,Frimino is a versatile attacking player who could play anywhere in the front three.
