Manchester United have had an average season by their standards managing a return to the Champions League after a gap of one season. Although they have one of the costliest sides in Premier League history, they managed only 6 points more than what David Moyes managed last season. Van Gaal has given the impression that the squad has lacked balance and this summer window is key to address those issues. So these are the players who have become just a burder on the wage bill at Old Trafford and Van Gaal should look to get them out as soon as possible.

Javier Hernandez

The Mexican star was underwhelming at Real Madrid this season although he propped up with few crucial goals. While Real have chosen not to exercise their right to buy the Mexican,United should find no trouble in finding willing buyers for the striker.

Nani

Although newspaper reports and Twitter will make you believe that the winger has had a storming season at Sporting, the truth remains that Nani is still a very inconsistent player and has no place at Old Trafford. He has scored some great goals but his overall play is still lacking and isn’t someone who will buckle down and contribute defensively too.

Rafael

The Brazillian right back has suffered from injuries this season but is clearly not in Van Gaal’s plan who prefers a more solid player in that position. A few years back ,it looked like the Da Silva brothers will go on to become the first choice full backs for United for the next decade but now both of them find themselves out of Old Trafford.

Jonny Evans

Jonny Evans has regressed very badly in the last two years,a move to a club like Everton will help resurrect his career. He certainly has no place at Old Trafford
